Solution Sets Dynamic Web Page Technology

A Multi-Part Demonstration

Web Page Generator

Simple browser-based web page design and uploading

So far, the concept sounds fairly simple, right? However, you may be asking yourself "But don't I have to learn the parameters? And aren't getting those parameters and associated values correct somewhat complex?"

The answer is no to both because Solution Sets has developed a Web Page Generator. This is itself a dynamic web page. It is a form which essentially has all of the dynamic web page parameters available for the user to define. And in fact, there are defaults for every single one...meaning quite literally that the Web Page Generator will create a dynamic web page even if you don't enter a single parameter in the form. Now of course the resulting web page won't be particularly interesting. But the key is that you only have to enter any parameters that you want to, and every other parmater will have a default value.

In fact, Solution Sets developed three levels of the Web Page Generator. There is a "basic level" (for those just being introduced to the concept), an "intermediate level" (capable of building simple but useful dynamic web pages), and the "complete level" which can handle all of the Dynamic Web Technology parameters. You will get a chance to see (and use) the first two of these later in this demonstration.

Web Page Generator

Can also generate and maintain traditional HTML web pages

Despite the tremendous benefits of dynamic web pages, there are certainly some cases where people will still want to create traditional static HTML files. Because of how Solution Sets developed its entire suite of Dynamic Web Technology tools, it turns out it was a straight-forward extension to allow this technology to optinally create (and update) HTML files. The same dynamic text and parameter tools (the Web Page Generator, and associated upload capabilities) can be used, and a single radio button can be clicked on to indicate that a static HTML file should be created rather than a dynamic web page.

However, "behind the scenes", a dynamic web page is still being created (it just won't be used). The benefit of this is when it comes time to modify the traditional HTML file created, merely changing a parameter or some text is as easy as it is when working with a dynamic file. The reason is all of the steps for the dynamic file are still taken; however, the resulting HTML file is also generated if so specified by the radio button.
